Church without my partner

Well this was an interesting day! Kassie woke up and said her stomach hurt, that was about it. We thought maybe she would get through church so we got ready as normal but as soon as I was getting ready to leave (I leave earlier to get ready) she threw up. So that was it, Tracy was staying home and I was off to do the service. It is amazing when you plan all week for the service you just never know whats going to happen. Just as a side note, Tracy could do the service but there were a number of songs that I was playing with the guitar and she hasn't learned to play yet (or ever will).

Other than not having Tracy by my side the service went great. It is a great privilege to share the word of God to people on a weekly and daily basis. Sometime we feel so unworthy but then God takes over and reminds us that he has called us to do His work and he equips us.

We started a series on Habakkuk this morning and this minor prophet has a lot to say in the first chapter about praying to God and how he responds but it might not always be the way we want.

Other than that it was a pretty boring day.

Should I, or Shouldn't I

That is a question that I have been debating since we came into our new appointment in Hanover. Should I start a blog? Well I will try it, but now I need to figure out if I write about, my life as an Officer, what is on my heart, just what I am thinking...or all of them.

First, I want tell you about the title of the my blog. Pastor Yone, well it is kind of a long story but I am a pastor along with my wife Tracy, to my congregation and the many community people that come in and out of our church building on a daily basis. The second part is that everyone gets my name wrong. One day I am John, Juan, Shawn, and I have been called Yone and that just sounds so sophisticated so that is the one I picked. My name is Jon (Yawn) but it is mispronounced daily.

I might at some points talk about technology because well...I have a weakness for it, although I am not too impressed with the new iPad from apple since it is just an over sized iPhone and my iTouch will do just fine for now.

Today we had a volunteer dessert appreciation for the community people who helped out in some way in 2009. We had 45 people come and enjoy delicious desserts made by our congregation and some great fellowship. Hanover is a wonderful community with gracious people who support us all the time. It was a great day but busy and ready to rest until Sunday.

Hope I can keep this updated. We'll see how it go.
